Exhibitors must comply with all other Creative Arts Department requirements.
1. Each piece must be the complete work of entrant from greenware stage (excluding porcelain blanks and contemporary bisque) and must never have been entered in a previous Utah State Fair. All entries must be kiln fired at 1000 degrees fahrenheit or more.

2. Each piece must have name and/or initials of person completing piece, and date started etched into greenware. Any exceptions need to be cleared with the ceramic supervisor.

3. Ceramic entry must be completed at least 75% in the technique described in the lot number. Duplication of techniques will not be placed in miscellaneous category.

4. A number will be assigned to each article by the Fair ceramic committee at the time of entry and the entrant will be given the corresponding claim check to reclaim the piece at the end of the show. All entries must remain on exhibition for the entire duration of the show.

5. It is strongly recommended that plates and plaques have suitable stands. Lace figurines must be mounted on suitable bases or boards.

6. Accessories such as lampshades, etc. are encouraged to make more interesting displays and exhibit ceramic item as attractively as possible. Dark material to display mother of pearl items and clear or white glaze are also encouraged.

7. Entries with loose parts must be securely fastened together to withstand handling and examination i.e. lids taped on, etc. However, the judges are permitted to open and examine the piece.

8. Entries which cannot be completely examined by the judges will be disqualified. Weighted chess sets, bookends and tile mosaic pieces secured to a background are the only exceptions to the above. There should be no felt on the bottom of pieces. Pieces permanently attached to bases will be accepted.

9. Reasonable safety and handling precautions will be exercised by Fair personnel, but the Fair assumes no liability for loss or breakage.
