What are the dates of the State Fair?

September 6-16, 2018.

The Fair begins the first Thursday after Labor Day and lasts 11 days.

Can I buy discount gate admission and carnival tickets?

YES! Save $2.00 on a regular priced ADULT gate admission ticket at Smith's Food and Drug checkout stands. Beginning August 1, 2018 you can purchase a Utah State Fair gate admission ticket for only $8.00. This ticket can be used any one day of the Fair, Sept. 6-16, 2018.

Buy online - Regular Carnival Wristband Vouchers are also discounted at $22.00 ($6.00 off on site prices) and a Matinee Carnival Wristband Voucher* for $15.00 ($3.00 off on site prices). Exchange the cash register voucher for your wristband at the Thomas Carnival Ticket Booth inside the Utah State Fair. Purchase early! Best prices start August 1 and end September 6, 2018.

* The Matinee Carnival Wristband Voucher is valid for rides from the carnival open until 6:00 pm on the day of redemption.

What are the carnival prices?
On site prices are:

What does parking cost?

$10.00 - Cash only accepted


Where are the parking locations?

Lot A - West of the Jordan River (Livestock Exhibitor passes only)
Lot B - White Ball Park - South of North Temple
Lot C - Main Parking - 2nd North and 1000 West (in addition to cars, this lot is for school bus parking and handicapped parking)
Lot E - Northwest Entrance - 3rd North and 1100 West (Horse Show & Arena Event Participants)


What about Handicapped parking?

Handicapped Parking - use Lot C, Main Parking - 2nd North and 1000 West. Wheelchair rental is available inside Gate "Y" which is on the south side of Parking Lot C (entrance on 1000 West).


Where can I rent a wheelchair?

Wheelchair and stroller rental is available inside Gate "Y", located at the South end of the main parking lot.


Are there special prices for handicapped persons?

Special Needs Program Guidelines

- Organizations must serve persons with physical or mental disabilities or limitations to be considered as a "Special Needs" organization. No exceptions will be made.

- The program is for organizations only. No individual Special Needs discount is available.

- All requests received will be reviewed. To submit a request for review:
The request must be typed or legibly written on official letterhead - no photocopies or faxes will be accepted.

Letterhead must include name, address and phone number of the organization.

The request must include the name of the person making the request, their title or position within the organization and their phone number.
If your group is requesting admission for more than one visitor day, the letter must state the number of tickets needed per day, including chaperones. Only one request per day will be considered per group. Organizations must arrange to arrive as one group. No individual tickets are issued.
Request letter must be received at the Fair Administration Office on or before 4:00 pm - Friday, August 24, 2018. The office address is 155 N. 1000 W. Salt Lake City, UT 84116. Hand delivered requests will not be filled at the time of delivery.

- If the request is approved (if the organization meets all criteria) a "Special Needs Admission Form" for each day requested will be mailed to you, or per your request, made available in Will Call at the Fair Administration Office. Admission must be paid on the day of visit at any Fair ticket booth. Authorized "Special Needs Admission Form" must be presented to purchase $1 admission.

Admission must be paid with one organization (company) check, payable to the Utah State Fair (no personal checks are accepted), one money order, payable to the Utah State Fair, one credit card, or cash. No purchase orders or billing is available.

Parking cost is the responsibility of the organization.
Special Needs admission does not include ticketed Grandstand Entertainment.

When and how much is the Ice Cream Festival?

Dairy Farmers of Utah Ice Cream Festival is Monday, September 10th
The cost is $3.00 for adults & $2.00 for children 12 & under (3:00 - 9:00 pm)


When and how much is the Beef Feast?

The Beef Feast is Friday, September 14th
The cost is $8.00 for tenderloin sandwich and chips or $10.00 with a drink. (starts at 11:00 am)


Do I need reservations for a school group?

Reservations are not needed for your school group to attend the Fair.

How can I get a job with the Fair?

Applications for Seasonal Fair employment will be available beginning August 1, 2018. You may pick up an application at the Administration office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be a job fair on August 15 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Wasatch Building

How can I get a job with the Carnival?

Carnival employment is through Thomas Carnival.

 


Where is the Commercial Exhibit Office during the Fair?

The Commercial Exhibit Office is located in the Administration Building, at the east end of the Fairpark.

 


Can I bring my pet with me to the Fair?

Animals, other than service dogs and animals scheduled for exhibit and/or performance, are prohibited on the grounds. Please leave your pets at home and not in your vehicle!  Anyone desiring to have their service dog admitted into the Fairpark must have the dog under control at all times with a harness, leash, or some other tether; or the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls. An admission ticket is required for the owner's admittance.


Can I rent the Fairpark buildings for my event?

YES! We have buildings and open, outdoor space to accommodate almost any event. Visit the Fairpark website at www.utahstatefairpark.com or call our Event Services Manager at 801-538-8441 for further assistance.
