When "mmmmmmm's" and "yummmmm's" are the reaction to a traditional, well-known Utah dish, you know you must have a winner. So why not obtain the title and bragging rights to accompany your family's famous funeral potato recipe?
The Utah's Own Funeral Potato Contest is designed to use products grown, produced or processed in Utah. Participants are required to use at least THREE Utah's Own ingredients, (ingredients must be clearly identified as to name brand or who procured from). Dishes will be judged on Taste, Appearance and Best Use of Utah products.
|1.||Only ONE entry/recipe per exhibitor.|
|2.||Exhibitors must bring the prepared dish made from Utah's Own products to the Zion building at 7:00 p.m.|
|3.||All preparation is to be done at home. Only "warm up" for judging will be done at Fairpark.|
|4.||Exhibitors must comply with safe food handling guidelines.|
|5.||Submit four (4) copies of your recipe, printed or typed on 8 1/2" x 11" white paper; three (3) with recipe only and one (1) with your recipe, name, address and phone numbers.|
|6.||Contest is open to any resident of the State of Utah.|
|7.||Recipes become the property of the Utah State Fair and Utah's Own, who reserve the right to edit, adapt, copyright, publish, or advertise the recipes and the names of the contestants without compensation.|
|8.||Employees of the Utah State Fair, Utah's Own, its affiliates, subsidiaries and families are not eligible.|
|9.||Only one winning entry per household or address.|
|10.||Taxes are the responsibility of the winner.|
|11.||Judging will be based on Taste (40 percent) Use of Utah's Own products (40 percent) and Appearance/Presentation of Dish (20 percent). Extra points may be awarded for more than one Utah's Own products. Judges decisions are final.|
