School Field Trips to the Utah State Fair

Dates

School group can visit the Fair on special dates for the discounted school group rate. 2017 Utah State Fair field trip dates are:

Thursday, September 7th-Friday, September 8th - 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Monday, September 11th- Friday, September 15th - 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

School group admission will not be offered on any other day than those listed above. Field trip group admission is not available on Saturdays or Sundays without prior administrative aproval.

Hours

Gates open for field trip groups at 9:00 AM. All school field trip groups must check in between 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM to be eligible for field trip group admission. All field trip groups must be at the gates and paid before 1:00 PM.

Once on the grounds, groups can stay as long as they would like. Please note that all vendors, shopping and the carnival will be closed until the posted Fair hours.

Admission for School Groups

Students and chaperones pay only $1.00 each (chaperones must pay with the group to qualify for the $1.00 rate). Admission will be waived for students unable to pay the $1.00 admission charge. School groups must pay with cash, one school check, money order or credit card in one transaction (no personal checks will be accepted). Have one representative of your group pay admission and provide the school name, address, phone number, number of students and chaperones paying the $1.00 admission fee, and number of student admissions being waived. Enter in Gate Y off 200 North and 1000 West.

Parking

Parking is free to busses, marked school vehicles and chaperone vehicles immediatley following the busses. Parking for busses is available in Lot D. Busses can enter Lot D off 300 N or 1000 W.

Any groups not entering with the busses or marked school vehicles must pay parking at $10.00 per vehicle. Free neighborhood parking is available.

Costs

If your field trip group has a ratio of one (1) teacher or chaperone to three (3) students or more, admission is $1.00 for students and teachers/chaperones. Additional teahers/chaperones must pay regular gate admission. Admission will be waived for students unable to pay the $1.00 admission charge.

Full payment is due at the gate by cash, credit card, money order or school check in one transaction. No pre-payments will be accepted. Send one representative of the group to the ticket booth to pay admission and provide the school name, address, phone number, number of students and chaperones paying the $1.00 admission fee, number of waived student admissions and the number of regular price gate admissions

Admission for Home School Groups

Home school groups are welcome to attend the Fair at the $1.00 rate for students and chaperones. Please note that to be eligible for the school group rate your group must have a ratio of one (1) teacher or chaperone to three (3) students or more.

Lunch Storage

Schools are welcome to bring their own lunches onto the grounds. Lunch storgae is available in the Administration Building. No refrigeration is available. You must deliver and pick up your lunches from the Administration Building.

If a lunch area is needed, picnic tables are located on the Center Mall and throughout the Fairpark. Grass areas may also be utilized as lunch areas.
