2016 Miss Utah State Fair

Shianne Lowe, 21, of West Haven, UT was named Miss Utah State Fair 2016 after a day of competition at the Utah State Fairpark.

The Miss Utah State Fair contest was held on Saturday, June 4th. Contestants were judged on equine and rodeo knowledge, interview skills, modeling, speech and horsemanship. Judges of the contest were Renae Cowley (Miss Rodeo Utah 2008), Jamie Udell (Miss Rodeo Utah 2011) and Kimberly Shaeffer.

Lowe is the daughter of Davey and Lyndi Lowe. She is a licensed cosmetologist working at Textures Salon in Roy, UT. Lowe is a member of the National Barrel Horse Association, National Rifle Association, and Intermountain Pro Rodeo Association. Lowe has received many awards and titles including 2014 Miss Wilderness Circuit, 2011 Silver State International High School Rodeo Queen, and 2015 Miss Rodeo Utah Second Attendant.

First Attendant to Miss Utah State Fair is Taylor Preece, 17, of Plain City, UT. She is the daughter of Clayton and Carrie Preece. Preece just completed her junior year at Fremont High School. Preece is a member of Spikers Rodeo Club and Fremont FFA. She looks forward to studying orthodontics after graduation from High School.

Miss Utah State Fair Second Attendant is Savannah Ogden, 17, of Bluffdale, UT. She is the daughter of Bret and Laura Ogden. Ogden is a junior at Riverton High School and looks forward to studying business after graduation. Ogden was the Captain of the Utah State 4-H Horse Bowl team placing fifth in national competition.

As royalty these young women will represent the Utah State Fair and Utah's Own PRCA Rodeo throughout the state at rodeos and parades. Some of these events include the Oakley 4th of July Celebration, The Days of 47 Parade, and Cache County Fair and Rodeo.

This year the Utah State Fair celebrates 160 years as the largest and longest running annual event in the state of Utah. The 2017 Utah State Fair runs September 7-17 with Utah's Own PRCA Rodeo nightly September 7-10. For more information, please visit our website www.utahstatefair.com.
